Jews in Bochnia - 1942
Bochnia is a small town some 20 miles east of Krakow. This database is a listing of Jews who were confined to the Bochnia Ghetto in 1942. It comes from a document titled "Verzeichnis der judischen Einwohner in Bochnia am 30 Januar 1942" . The original document is in the Bochnia Archives and a copy can be found in Yad Vashem's Archives (ref. M54.50). There are 1,600 surnames on the list, representing 5,000 family members. The data available to members of Shoreshim includes:
Date of birth
Number of family members
Address in Bochnia
How long they were living there.
Acknowledgments: Our thanks to Miriam Romm who drew our attention to this document, and for her continuing liason with the staff at Bochnia's Archives.
